We are a group of victims determined to fight back against Anon-IB, a website used to anonymously post nude or pornographic photos without the subjects permission in order to humiliate, shame or blackmail them. It's a disgusting practice, and victims often find themselves with little no legal recourse or options to have their photo removed. Anon-IB not only promotes this practice, but they also turn a blind eye to child pornography, rape and theft. The entire business model of this website is despicable, and they have victimized thousands of women worldwide since its inception. The subjects often face ongoing struggles due to having their private images shared online- many victims experience stalking, harassment, and blackmail, as well as having their personal and professional reputations ruined. Anon-ib, specifically, is only one outlet for this practices, but it is the one most commonly used, and their business model is set up solely to victimize and harm women. We would like to raise money in order to hire IT techs, and Lawyers to help us achieve this goal, and make a large step forward in eliminating revenge porn and non-consensual photo sharing. A portion of the money would also go towards providing victims with resources to have their photos removed, legal resources to discuss options for prosecution, as well as help handling the emotional aftermath of having their personal photos and information posted maliciously.
I’m Darieth Chisolm and I am a survivor of cybersexual rape and assault, harassment, stalking, and extortion. During this time, I spiraled into the most unimaginable sense of pain, frustration, anger, isolation, confusion, and heartache possible.
I am also an Emmy Award-winning television personality, former NBC News Anchor, author, business visibility and life coach, and I found myself at the very center of this nightmare.
Specifically, 50 Shades of Silence aims to advocate for stricter laws and tougher enforcement for cyber sexual crimes, encourage the accountability and responsiveness among online companies, promote social responsibility for texting, posting and sharing online, and restore dignity and respect to victims and survivors.
The project includes an upcoming documentary, anthology, and website with resources and a social media awareness campaign. You are encouraged to lend a voice to the film, spread the word about the campaign, and becoming a “Patron” in the Patreon crowd fund project to raise money for the film or simply choose a one-time donation. I would greatly appreciate your support, whether it’s through financial, volunteer or simply spreading the message on social media. Thank you.
